Abstract

The present research work had as specific objectives to identify the factors and causes that most hinder and limit educational innovations in institutions. The methodology was quantitative, with a non-experimental-transversal research design and the type of descriptive research. The sample consisted of 23 teachers from the postgraduate course in Innovation in Education from the School of Educational Sciences of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador Santo Domingo Headquarters. The data collection instrument was the survey. A data analysis was performed based on the techniques of descriptive statistics. As results, it was obtained that the factors that most hinder and limit educational innovations are: Individualism, teaching attitude, policies of the educational system. On the other hand, the causes are: Demotivation of the teacher, little economic investment and devaluation of the teaching profession.
